‘I sacrificed CM post for Telangana’

Stunned over the spate of his party leaders joining TRS, Telangana Congress’ senior leader K Jana Reddy said he was offered CM post during the intensified Telangana movement before the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and that he had denied the coveted post for the cause of Telangana.

“AICC President Sonia Gandhi insisted that I take over the party’s reigns when the leadership crisis erupted in Congress. However, he did not accept the offer in the interest of Telangana and its people who aspired for a separate Telangana.

“It was unfortunate that the Congress leaders were leaving the party which had fulfilled the dreams of the people by awarding Telangana state before the 2014 general elections,” said Jana Reddy.
