Narendra Modi ever since he became Prime Minister concentrated on strengthening India’s ties with various nations across the world. Implementing proactive foreign policy he toured 26 countries in two years and charmed all world leaders having personal bonding with them.
He met US president Barak Obama, invited him as special guest for Republic Day parade and Obama too reciprocated inviting him for the second time.This is a record as Obama who is in the last term is inviting only his close friends among world leaders.
In the midst of all this New York Times came with a shocking analysis that Obama and Modi share unlikely friendship bond. It stated that the two share compelling reasons to strengthen relations as US wants to encourage India as ally in its Asian policy to counter aggressive China.
India too needs US support as it faces hostile neighbours in Pakistan and China. It stated that while Obama made protection of minorities as pillar of his life,Modi spent his life in RSS, a paramilitary right wing organisation forcing marjoity Hindu views on the people. The daily also highlighted the similarities between PM Modi and US President Obama.
