Giving a big twist to his state people, AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to hoist tricolor flag on this Independence day celebration in Anantapur, instead of the state capital Amaravathi.
This decision was taken by Naidu following criticism that his government neglected Rayalaseema region after Vijayawada emerged as state capital.
The leaders said Naidu wanted to give an impression that Rayalaseema districts were also equal to Andhra districts in conducting government programmes and also inches implementation of development schemes.
In 2014, the independence celebrations were conducted in Kurnool and last year vijayawada has been chosen as the venue for the celebrations.
Naidu wanted to erase the impression among Rayalaseema people they are isolated and make them part of Andhra Pradesh development.
