Why Naidu Not Using Glamour?

Chandrababu Naidu has a great track record of maintaining good relations with film stars and having them in the promotions of state government’s initiatives. And he had successfully conducted his brainchild activities like Janma Bhoomi, Neeru Meeru, and awareness on population control, literacy increase programmes etc. And in all these programmes, Naidu had either star heroes or notable actors vouching for it.

However, this isn’t the case after he is back in the saddle in 2014. Especially the programmes of his government didn’t see film stars much. Sample his just-announced ‘Vanam Manam’, a mission to plant trees and increase green cover in the  successor state. While students,employees, officials and various sections of people are actively participating and making the programme a success, the absence of cine glamour is conspicuous.

While Telugu film fraternity including stars have participated in Telangana government’s Haritha Haram, their participation in AP’s Vanam Manam is zero. This has now become talking point. Many are also criticising Tollywood actors for taking sides.

There’s no denying that Telangana has an advantage in form of Hyderabad, but actors who’re born in AP and have their roots in AP going completely absent for Vanam Manam isn’t welcome decision. Probably, Naidu might be busy with various issues including the ongoing Special Category Status issue for the new state, it’s responsibility of actors to join the programme voluntarily and thus stood as an inspiration for people.
