AP & T Stand 1st & 2nd In India, But For Wrong Reasons

Ever since the state bifurcation, the neighboring Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been striving hard to make substantial progress in all-round development in the state and even managed to attract foreign attention to extent.

But the latest achievement pulled off by both the states, pushing the rest of the states way below them is something which is tarnishing to the image of these fast developing states and definitely not to be proud of.

The latest National Crime Records Bureau’s (NCRB) latest survey report revealed that AP and Telangana stood at first and second ranks in the country for crimes against women. According to the NCRB report, a total of 8,685 cases of outraging the modesty of women were reported across the country.

Of these, 2,200 cases were registered in Andhra Pradesh followed by Telangana with 1,228 cases. Maharashtra occupied third position with 1,119 cases. AP and Telangana contended for the top spot with cases of abuse on women at work places, public transport systems and also at home.

These shameful achievements only prove that both the states have a long way to go in terms of women’s safety while the initiatives taken by the respective police departments like Abhayam App in AP and She teams, Hawk Eye App in Telangana need an even stricter implementation.
