The auction began with the last year’s price of Rs10.32 lakh went up to Rs14.65 lakh with the competitors increasing their quotation thousands at a time.
Initially, near about 20 bidders took part in the auction, but only few remained in the race as the bid went for a huge amount. Cheerful atmosphere is seen all around the Balapur town with the slogans of “Ganapathi Bappa Moriya” as people bid farewell to Lord Ganesha on the 11th day of Ganesh Utsavalu.
Security has been tightened in the city for Ganesh immersion. A total of 800 video cameras have been set to monitor the final day festivities across the city.
