Balapur Laddu @ Record Price

The famous Balapur laddu is auctioned for a whopping Rs 14.65 lakh this year. Businessman Skylab Reddy belonging to the village bagged the laddu for the record price. Last year, Balapur laddu was auctioned for Rs 10.3 lakh, wherein it was sold for Rs 9.05 lakh in 2014.

“I’m glad and it is a great luck to be able to win the Laddu in the auction,” said the overwhelmed Skylab Reddy. The auctioned money is generally spent on development and welfare activities of Balapur village.

The auction began with the last year’s price of Rs10.32 lakh went up to Rs14.65 lakh with the competitors increasing their quotation thousands at a time.

Initially, near about 20 bidders took part in the auction, but only few remained in the race as the bid went for a huge amount. Cheerful atmosphere is seen all around the Balapur town with the slogans of “Ganapathi Bappa Moriya” as people bid farewell to Lord Ganesha on the 11th day of Ganesh Utsavalu.

Security has been tightened in the city for Ganesh immersion. A total of 800 video cameras have been set to monitor the final day festivities across the city.
