Will Roja Attend Assembly From Thursday?

Though firebrand YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari in Chittoor district R K Roja has tendered an apology to assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao for her “unwarranted comments” against chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and others in the Assembly a few months ago, it is unlikely that she would be allowed to enter the House on Thursday when it would meet for its special session.

Roja met the Speaker and requested him to allow her into the assembly from Thursday. However, Kodela reportedly told her that he alone would not be able to take a decision since the issue was referred to a privileges committee.

A decision is expected to be taken during this session which would continue only till Saturday after ratifying the GST Bill of the Centre and passing a couple of other bills.

Sources said the Roja issue would come up on the last day of this session and if the House agrees to revoke her suspension, she would be allowed into the House from next session.

Roja is learnt to have requested the Speaker to allow her at least till the YSR Congress Legislature Party office, but Kodela refused.

There is also a suggestion that Kodela must take up Roja issue on the first day itself and allow her into the House from next day. It remains to be seen what decision he would take.
