No AP Power To Telangana?

ap-tsYet again, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments engaged in a bitter dispute. This time it is about the payment of power dues owed by Telangana state to the neighboring state and supply of power at reasonable prices.

As part of agreement entered under AP Reorganisation act, Andhra Pradesh has been supplying 350 MW of power to Telangana everyday.

The AP authorities brought to the notice of Southern Region Power Committee that Telangana government was not clearing dues for the lost two months which put heavy burden on it. In return, Telangana officials complained that the AP was charging about Rs 5 for unit while many private power generation companies are ready to supply at Rs 4 only.

While AP clarified that it will not supply power until dues are cleared, Telangana made it clear that it will not buy power at higher price from now onwards.
