Old Notes: Minister Struggles To Get His Brother’s Deadbody

Not just common people of India are suffering from the consequences of demonetization, even the Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation, D.V Sadananda Gowda couldn’t escape from it. In a very saddening incident, Bhaskar Gowda, brother of Sadananda Gowda, died after battling jaundice from last 10 days at KMC hospital in Mangalore.

When the minister was at hospital to collect his brother’s body, the hospital management denied to accept the old notes offer by him. Angered with their behavior of hospital staff, the minister sought a written note from the staff saying that they are not accepting old 500 and 1000 rupee notes. However, Sadananda made sure to clear the balance through a cheque and he warned them ‘a suitable action’ for the incident.

Apart from the supporters of Sadananda Gowda, BJP members in Mangalore are protesting against the hospital staff following this incident. Having associated with BJP for more than 35 years, D.V Sadananda Gowda served as former Chief Minister of Karnataka, from August, 2011 to July, 2012.

On other hand, more than 50 common people and close to 10 bank employees reportedly lost their lives due the impact of long-queues and immense work pressure followed by overnight note-ban.
