Kodanda Does A Mudragada Against KCR!

Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Prof M Kodandaram, who has been under constant attack from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders for questioning the anti-people policies of the K Chandrasekhar Rao government, took an aggressive posture on Thursday.

The TJAC was planning to take up a massive dharna programme at Indira Park on Thursday in protest against the forcible land acquisition from villagers by the TRS government by bulldozing the new bill amending the Central land acquisition act. However, the police refused permission for the deeksha and dharna on the pretext that it would cause law and order breakdown in the city.

Enraged at this, Kodandaram locked himself up in his house at Tarnaka and began indefinite fast on the lines of Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham who is known for his tactics of arresting himself in his own house at Kirlampudi to do fasting for the sake of Kapu reservations.

The police made elaborate bandobust and arrested JAC leaders and activists coming from all parts of the state to express solidarity to Kodandaram.

The Opposition parties – the Congress and the TDP, boycotted the winter session of the assembly in protest against the new land acquisition bill.

The Opposition members met assembly speaker S Madhusudhana Chary and submitted letters stating that they were boycotting the proceedings to protest the bulldozing of the land acquisition bill.
