Murderer Turns CEO of Company

In a shocking and surprising news a person named John Valverde, the 47-year-old, will take over as chief executive officer(CEO) of YouthBuild USA Inc., after being in prison for 16 years.

Getting into the news, John, at the age of 20, decided to meet a photographer his girlfriend said had raped her. He shot this man once in the head, at point-blank range and for killing the photographer named Joel Schoenfeld, who was on probation for two other sex offenses at the time, John had to reportedly spend 16 years in jail before being released on parole.

But John never gave up in his life. While in prison, he redeemed himself by earning two college degrees, taught fellow inmates how to read and write, and worked as an HIV/AIDS counselor.

Now in a week, he’ll take over as CEO of YouthBuild USA Inc., an organization with a global network of programs aimed at helping young, low-income dropouts reclaim their lives and get skills to land jobs and become community leaders. This killer-turned-CEO said that he thinks it is important for him to be honest about his past with the young people he’s trying to help. He also said, “every one guy in three has a criminal record.”
