‘Brown Skin/Indians Shouldn’t Be Here’

After the killing of Telugu man Srinivas Kuchibhotla in the US, which appeared to be a hate crime, the recent hate crimes against Indians are surfacing one by one.

In the current incident that has come to the fore now, a home of an Indian in the town of Peyton in Colorado, US was trashed with dog’s poop and eggs by some unknown miscreants. Hateful messages, most of them were racial slurs, were were written all over the walls of the home.

“We saw more than 50 papers stuck everywhere on our door, window, car. They smeared dog poop everywhere and they had thrown at least like 40 eggs on our walls on our ceilings, everywhere outside,” the Indian homeowner was quoted as saying to the media.

‘You brown or Indian shouldn’t be here,’ was one of the threatening message that was written on the walls, as per the homeowner.

He added that despite the act of hate, his neighbors came to his rescue and helped him clean up the house.

It may be noted that this apparent hate crime happened just a few days before the murder of Vamshi Reddy, a native of Warangal in Telangana, on February 9.
