YS Jagan has announced the first candidate of his party for the 2019 general elections. Jagan has named Cherukulapadu Sridevi as the Pathikonda Assembly candidate from the YSRCP party. With the naming of the first candidate ahead of one-and-a-half year to general polls, the temperature in political circuits has raised, especially in Kurnool district.
Jagan made this announcement during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Kurnool district. On Saturday, Jagan interacted with the people in Krishnagiri and announced Sridevi as their representative. He asked people to give Sridevi double the majority they usually give to Cherukulapadu Narayana Reddy.

Back in 2014 polls, YS Jagan had announced his party’s first candidate from Dhone Assembly from Kurnool district. Then Jagan had announced Buggana Rajendranath from Dhone where KE Krishna Murthy was representing. Buggana subsequently defeated TDP’s KE Prathap, Krishna Murthy’s son in the general elections.
However, KE Krishna Murthy who contested from Pathikonda in 2014 went onto become the first Deputy CM of the successor state of Andhra Pradesh. Now, Jagan has targeted KE Krishna Murthy once again as he announced his first candidate for Pathikonda which is being represented by the Deputy CM.
