This is going to be something special and different. Puri is known for out and out commercial films which perfectly blends with Vijay’s off-screen attitude which is hatke from the regular heroes.However, the details of plot are not known yet and it will be interesting to see what sort of story will Puri come up with for Vijay.

Once again it will be Charmme who will be part of production along with Puri Jagan under Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies and Puri Connects banners.

Director Anil Ravipudi has utmost clarity over what he is doing. Working with a superstar and the sky high expectations hasn’t intimidated him a bit. Like always he is finishing off the filming in a flash.

He has wrapped up a lengthy train episode in the special set erected at Annapurna Studios. It is a thirty five minute episode with lots of humor.

Adivi Sesh has brought craze to the thriller genre in Tollywood with “Kshanam”. All his recent movies were successful and his upcoming thriller “Evaru” has already generated great buzz with its intriguing trailer.

Starring Regina Cassandra in the main role as a rape victim and Adivi Sesh as a corrupt police officer, the trailer has left us in wanting more.The film is produced by the ‘Kshanam’ producer PVP and directed by newcomer Venkat Ramji.Adivi Sesh confesses that he takes pride in reviving this genre in Tollywood.

She has been playing different roles of late.

“If you find a success formula, you feel comfortable but as an actor, you need to pull up everything thing. Versatility should be there. This is why I keep playing different characters,” she said. However, she doesn’t get preoccupied with the roles she plays always. “As a rule, I never take my role to home. Once the director yells ‘cut’, I will forget about the role and be my self. I am a human being, I not mere actress,” she adds.

Actress Shraddha Kapoor, who plays the female lead in the upcoming action-thriller “Saaho”, says her co-actor Prabhas is a huge superstar but has the most amazing heart.

“Prabhas is a huge superstar but he has the most amazing heart. I and my team were in awe of that. We had a blast,” Shraddha said.

Talking about her experience of shooting in Hyderabad, the actress said: “I will not be able to describe the experience in words. Actually, the whole team welcomed me as a part of their family. We shot this film within two years.

“In these two years, Hyderabad actually became my second home. I would look forward to going to the set every day. I would love to go there again and again because of the amount of love that I have received from them. They have been so kind to me. I felt so much at home there.”

Shraddha has back to back releases with “Saaho” hitting the theatres on August 30, and her next, “Chhichhore”, where she stars alongside Sushant Singh Rajput, releasing on September 6.

The actress sounded very happy about this, as she said: “The two movies are so different from each other and I feel lucky that I got to be a part of both.”

Even though it feels nice to see two films releasing back to back, shooting for three films at the same time was not so easy for Shraddha, the third film being “Street Dancer 3D”, where she has been paired opposite Varun Dhawan.

“I only want to say that my body is paining a lot. It has been a physically intense year for me. Street Dancer will release next year, even though we have finished shooting. I feel like relaxing a little but now the promotions (for ‘Saaho’) have started.”

Shraddha added that she is excited because she got to be a part of such amazing movies.

“‘Saaho’ is my first multi-lingual film. It is a very big thing for me to be a part of this film. I am eagerly waiting for World Saaho Day, which is on the 30th.”

“Saaho” has been directed by Sujeeth and also stars Jackie Shroff and Neil Nitin Mukesh in key roles. The film releases on August 30.

Released with good hype and expectations, Nagarjuna’s Manmadhudu 2 has disappointed the critics and audiences to the core. However, the film managed to register decent openings on its first day, all thanks to Manmadhudu franchise.

According to producers, Manmadhudu 2 has collected a world-wide share of Rs 5.03 Crore on the opening day including premieres. While the film claimed to have collected 1.30 Crore share in Nizam and 0.48 Crore share in Ceded, the film told to have collected 2.08 Cr share in Andhra. On the whole, the film collected Rs 3.86 Cr share in both the Telugu states on the first day.

Whereas, the Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet-starrer collected 0.62 Cr share (including 0.40 Cr from hires) in Karnataka on the first day and the Rest of India (ROI) and Rest of World (ROW) is pegged at 0.25 Cr share. In US, Manmadhudu 2 collected 0.30 Cr share including Thursday premieres. Overall, the world-wide share is claimed at 5.03 Crore by the film’s producers.

Telugu fraternity is rejoicing that Tollywood’s very own films fetched 7 national awards other day. But the biggest thing one should look at is, the authenticity of these awards no matter if Telugu films get more awards or not. Especially the Visual Effects community is deeply disappointed with these awards.

First of all, in the National Film Awards, there is no difference between Special Effects and Visual Effects awards. While Special Effects mean something achieved (like bomb blasts, tough lighting etc) with a special set, electrical and other equipment. Visual effects are greenscreen shot footage that goes for a makeover inside the computers. Other day, KGF and Awe movie has bagged a joint award for “Best VFX” category. They denoted it as ‘Best Special Effects’ award.

One wonders, what is there is KGF that deserves visual effects award? Compared to that, Awe movie got nothing in it that is worth grabbing an award. VFX community feels that gross injustice is meted to movies like Shankar’s 2 Point O and Shahrukh’a Zero which have some breathtaking effects. While 2.O has terrific work which is a result of the contribution from 2000+ VFX artists, the dwarf role in Zero (played by Shahrukh) and the space elements are one of the best works done by Indian CGI companies.

As the technical brilliance of these films is not awards and rewards, the has tag #ShameOnNationalAwards is being trended by many VFX specialists across India now. Will someone from national awards jury talk about this?

To put the point straight, first at Nandi awards and now at National Awards, it looks like things are not working in favour of Mega hero Ram Charan no matter how hard he works to make his onscreen performances work. Mega fans are quite disappointed that their favourite hero is not getting recognised by governments for reasons unknown.

During the times of Magadheera in 2010, actually, Ram Charan is expected to win the Nandi Award for his performance in the role of Harsha and Kaalabhairava in that Rajamouli directorial. His varied looks, intense presentation and flawless body language made the role score 100 out of 100 marks. But then, Nandi Awards Jury felt that Dasari Narayana Rao in Mesthri movie has done a better performance than Ram Charan and gave the award to him.

Now in 2019, the National Film Awards Jury feels that Ram Charan is nowhere reach to the performances delivered by Ayushman Khurrana (Andhadhun) and Vicky Kaushal (Uri). Definitely, Charan’s act in this Sukumar directorial is better than what Vicky did in Uri. Maybe the Best Actor award should have been shared between Charan and Ayushman. Shocking thing is that Charan is not given a consolation at least, like a Special Jury mention. But why?

Some feel that the political links of Chiranjeevi with Congress party and his enemies in political circles and lobbying kingdoms are responsible for snubbing his son from awards. The fans aptly put it, ‘Charan is backstabbed twice so far, and they may do it always’.
