JG Heads Towards Flop in THIS Territory

NTR Jr’s latest release ‘Janatha Garage’ had a record breaking first week at the worldwide box office. The film grossed Rs 100 Cr in its first week itself and became the fastest non-Baahubali Telugu film to do so.

Janatha Garage set the first week all-time record in Vizag, beating Baahubali. In all the other territories, JG has created non-Baahubali records. The film is heard to have already made 90% recovery of distributors’ money and will fetch profits to all. However, ‘Janatha Garage’ is heading towards a huge flop in a territory where it was expected to be the most profitable.

Janatha Garage has minted only Rs 3.22 gross in Kerala, barely 40% recovery in its first week. The film even failed to break the box office record held by stylish star Allu Arjun’s ‘Yodhavu’, the Malayalam version of blockbuster ‘Sarrainodu’, which collected a gross of Rs 4.14 Cr in its first week. Despite having Kerala’s biggest star Mohanlal in the film, JG couldn’t topple Yodhavu, which once again demonstrates the stamina of Bunny in Kerala.

JG might earn at most Rs 2 Cr more in Kerala and it will still remain a loss venture as the film’s Kerala rights were pocketed for Rs 8 Cr.
