Abhishek Lost 2 Crore on MOR?

Abhishek Nama, the distributor-turned-producer, who was making right noises in the film industry for a while and seen as a competition to Dil Raju, apparently lost over Rs 2 Crore due to his recent release “Mana Oori Ramayanam” directed and produced by Prakash Raj. Abhishek has spent monies on the film’s publicity and theatres’ rents which costed him about Rs 2 Crore approximately.

No doubt the film has got critical acclaim, but it failed to translate into commercial success. With there’s heavy competition from three other films on Dasara eve, MOR said to have paid hefty price. Trade analysts confirmed that the film is a washout at the Box Office and incurred heavy losses all over, Abhishek has to lose all his money on this Telugu remake of Malayalam superhit Shutter.

It may be recalled that Abhishek had announced five films – one with Boyapati Sreenu, Bellamkonda Sreenivas; second with Nikhil and Sudheer Varma (of Swamy Ra Ra fame) and third one is Hunterrr remake with Avasarala Srinivas; fourth one is Gudachari with Kshanam team (Adivi Sesh, Adah Sharma, Ravikanth Perepu) and fifth one is Pullela Gopichand’s biopic.

It needs to be seen whether the poor result of MOR would have any affect on these projects or not. Let’s wait and see.
