TDP Grabs Credit for Air India’s Resurgence

Air India has reportedly made a profit of Rs 105 crore. Although this is a meager profit, the news has become sensational as the airline has hit the profit notes for the first time in nine years.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is now trying to take credit for this feat of Air India as the profits were seen by the airline after senior TDP MP Ashok Gajapathi Raju took charge as the Civil Aviation Minister. A post on Telugu Desam Party’s official facebook page reads, “Much credit for the amazing turnaround goes to our very own Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Civil Aviation Minister.”

However, this credit grabbing act of TDP has been met with mixed response. Some netizens differed with the AP ruling party’s propaganda saying the operating profit of Air India must be attributed to the slump in global crude oil prices but not to any individual or party.

On the other hand, supporters of TDP claim that the major decisions taken by Air India under Ashok Gajapathi Raju’s leadership resulted in the profits so the TDP was not wrong to take credit.
