2016 Roundup: Heroine Of The Year

2015 was a bad year for Rakul Preeth Singh as two of her three films that released in that year ended up as big disasters. Despite the dismal failures of Kick 2 and Bruce Lee, Rakul continued to grab offers from big ticket films and that paid off.

Rakul had three straight releases in Tollywood in 2016 and all the three collected over 50 crore distributor share at the box office, thus earning her the ‘Heroine of the year’ tag.

Sarrainodu, Dhruva and Nannaku Prematho films helped Rakul to have upper hand on other top rated heroines. With Mahesh-Murugadoss film slated for summer 2017, Rakul has an exciting year ahead.

Samantha also scored two big hits with Janatha Garage and A Aa but she is also part of Brahmotsavam, the biggest disaster of the year.

Among the younger crop of actresses, Hebah Patel had a memorable year with Aado Rakam Eedo Rakam and Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada turning out to be money spinners.
