After the Telugu remake of Thani Oruvan (Dhruva) turned out to be decent hit, Ram Charan is reportedly opting for another remake. The actor is now toying with the idea of remaking a superhit Kannada film Bahaddur after his ongoing film with Sukumar. And if all goes as per plan, the film will be produced by Allu Aravind and there’s no clue yet on who is going to helm the film.
But the point to be noted is that none of the Telugu remakes of Kannada films have done well at the Telugu Box Office. While the Telugu remakes of Tamil films and Malayalam films proved to be a safe bet, the Telugu remakes of Kannada films haven’t made it yet.
Whereas the Kannada remakes of Telugu films hold good buzz in trade and films like Attarintiki Daredi, Darling, Mirchi, Pokiri, Dookudu, Brindavanam, etc have been remade in Kannada and all were successful in Kannada.
It’s always the other way around. Remakes of Telugu films in Kannada were big hits but the remakes of Kannada films in Telugu weren’t fateful. In fact, Bahaddur had its own share of disadvantages and the original film hadn’t more than the lead pair’s chemistry which is not Charan’s genre for sure. So, one has to wait and see how Charan would pull it off if he really does this.
