Bad Openings for Vijay In the US

With high expectations and pre-release buzz, Vijay Devarakonda starrer NOTA has opened to audiences on 5th October and it was premiered a day before in US. Since it’s coming from the most popular emerging star of south industry, the film was certainly carrying good hype among viewers.

But, the US premieres gave a unintended shock to the makers and Vijay. As per the sources, NOTA collected $188,995 from around 220 screens through its premier shows. But, these figures are no where close to what was expected from a Vijay Devarakonda’s project. While his previous film Geetha Govindham minted $400K+ from the premieres, NOTA – that released in Telugu and Tamil- failed to make half of it.

The negative mouth talk from premieres and not-so-exciting critic reviews seems to have further damaged the first day collections in Telugu states. Given that there no other Telugu releases for this weekend, it remains to be seen how our audiences are going to receive the film in following days.
