Dear Kisses And Disorders, Your Time Is Over

For every type of content, there is an expiry date. And if filmmakers are ignoring that, then their career will get expired. In recent times, this phenomenon is proved a couple of times. Have a look at it.

Last time Sreenu Vaitla spoke about a disorder and the result is clear. And then we have award winning director Ayodhya Kumar talking about a kissing fetish and the result is once again super clear. Wonder why Amar Akbar Antony and 24 Kisses ended up as such huge disasters? Here is a theory.

It is already said many times that the young generation has a new mindset and any filmmaker should play as per that. While picking a story on bipolar disorder is not wrong in the case of Amar Akbar Antony, but Vaitla has to pack it with some realistic elements than showcasing hero as a superhero without a cape.

In the same manner, one needs a good story with nice conflict points around 24 kisses, but mere kisses won’t do any magic. Gone are the days where people come to theatres to watch just a kiss, because YouTube and Netflix are offering much bold stuff than that.

So if anyone is coming up with a simple characterization for a film with only hero’s disorder or with a story that is based on just one kiss, then they are gone. Sample this: Both Arjun Reddy and RX100 had more story and screenplay than kisses and intimate scenes. That’s why they clicked.
