Released in March, 2016, PVP Cinema and Vamshi Paidipally’s Oopiri was critically acclaimed. To continue their goodwill, PVP and Vamshi came into an agreement for yet another movie starring Mahesh Babu. The movie was announced on Mahesh’s birthday.

However, Vamshi joined Twitter last week and announced that his film with Mahesh Babu will be produced by Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt. Even before people could understand this new twist in the tale, PVP’s latest shocker made things even more interesting.

PVP moved the Madras High Court against Vamshi Paidipally and the hon’ble court granted an injunction on December 21st against Vamshi Paidipalli and his writers Hari Krishna and Solomon, restraining them from using the concept and plot conceived under production 18 of PVP Cinema.

In a double jolt to the star director, PVP filed another complaint with the Film Chamber against director Vamshi Paidipalli demanding the recuperation of losses that incurred during the production of Oopiri.

The production house had alleged that it lost an amount of 21 crores due to cost over run and extravagance during the shooting of Oopiri. Vamshi Paidipally is yet to respond about the whole controversy.
